High Paying Business Careers
U.S. News and World Report found a “common theme” among the best jobs in business – money!
How people spend it, how to get them to spend it and how to help them invest it.
Business is a growth industry: the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) foresees close to 3.8 million openings in this field for sales reps, accountants, financial analysts, advisers, and more in the next three years.
While there are a lot of ways to break it up, there are three overarching categories when people talk about careers in business: accounting/finance, management and marketing.
Accounting and finance do two very different things – one tracks business assets and income and the other manages those assets – but they’re intimately related to one another so they tend to fall under one category. Together accounting and finance make the strategic decisions.
Management is quite different. Even within the category of management there is one-on-one Human Resources type work to nonprofit management.
Marketing is more external: whether it’s advertising, public relations, market research or product management.
While it’s difficult to fairly choose the top 10 Best Business Jobs, U.S News used U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics tried using a rubric based on the number of openings, the chance to advance and be professionally fulfilled, and the ability to meet financial obligations:
